A town in Chapala lake area has the world highest kidney failure. Years ago I would eat the white fish from the lake in the beautiful town of Chapala. With all the industry and manufacturing going in along the Chapala Lake shores and the lack of environment protection the lake has very high levels of lead and mercury. Most of the towns discharge their raw sewage into the lake. It is a pity as Chapala could become a water sport mecca.
